Stress free meal planning

meal planGetting organised in the kitchen has become increasingly important in recent weeks. The movement restrictions related to COVID 19 makes meal planning the ‘stress less’ option. The luxury of picking up some last-minute bits for dinner is just not possible right now. While online shopping deliveries have restricted time slots, requiring us to think ahead. For many people, a lack of planning and organisation is a real stumbling block to making healthier meal choices. Setting aside some time to create a meal plan and a shopping list for the week ahead can take the hassle out of healthy eating and help to keep your family’s wellbeing on track.

Get good sleep

sleepLong before the emergence of Covid19 enjoying adequate sleep was an issue for many people. As a society we are sleeping less, a lot less. The time we sleep each night has reduced from 9 hours to 7.5 hours since the 1900s.

Right now prioritising sleep is an important tool we can use to support our mental and emotional health. In this article we look at why sleep is important for our health and offer tips on getting more, better quality sleep.

Yet as the weeks of social restrictions related to COVID 19 roll-on, making healthy food choices (that are low in sugar) aren’t always easy. On the other hand, making poor food choices can drain both our physical and mental health. Success right now is to strike a healthy balance.
